Narnia
Our first cat of the day was this big White Tiger, who took a quick jump at me through the fence - maybe because I was wearing a cream jumper, maybe because I looked a soft target?!
Tamair
Born November 1977 Tamair is OLD. He seemed content lying on the grassy knoll until we started lobbing horsemeat at him, then he looked up for a few minutes at least.
Puna
This shot was taken about 5 seconds before Puna charged directly at me. Luckily there was a fence there and I stepped back just in time...!
Locked On
Puna only has eyes for me. Or maybe that bloke next to me, she really really liked him.
Muscular
Athena
This Jaguar meant business. Even before we entered the moat area she was watching us, and looked so mean and purposeful throughout our time at the cage. This was a bonus visit for us because we were a slightly smaller group than normal.
Sheltering
A leopard in hiding in a cave, peering out nonchalantly.
White Lions
A pride of lions in a huge area of the WHF facility, big and majestic - and seemingly playful, although I wouldn't fancy going in there myself if I'm honest.
Up Close
This lion lay right by the fence and looked at us all nonchalantly.
The Lion King
The male of the pride sitting and watching us as we moved around his large enclosure. He wasn't so keen on moving - but happy watching us.
Neptune
Intense Eyes
Small and cute - and not unlike Puss in Boots from Shrek...
Concentrating
Viktoria looking particularly focused as she leaps across the water. One of only two shots I nailed, and this one has wayyyyy too much fence unfortunately.
Front Paws Airborne
Two Puma's reside in this large enclosure - this was Viktoria, the more placid of the two. She was happy to make several jumps for us to catch the meat but I don't think I ever nailed the focus on her face it all happened so fast.
Water Droplets
Viktoria taking a drink in the water - lots of water sticking to and running from her face.
Jack the Jungle Cat
A cute and playful little guy, tricky to shoot because he darted around a lot.
Tiny
Another elder statesman at the WHF.
Big Yawn
Spotty
Profile of Xizi
Close-up look at Xizi.
Sumatran Tiger
Griffin
Griffin is a Caracal, not to be confused with a Lynx.
